About GPA Calculator

Calculate your Grade Point Average (GPA) on a standard 4.0 scale. Add your courses with their credit hours and letter grades to get both weighted and unweighted GPA calculations. The weighted GPA takes credit hours into account, giving more weight to courses with higher credits, while the unweighted GPA treats all courses equally.

Key Features

  • Calculate both weighted and unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Support for all standard letter grades from A+ to F
  • Dynamic course rows - add and remove courses as needed
  • Real-time calculation as you enter grades
  • Visual GPA scale bar showing your standing
  • Complete grade scale reference table with percentages
  • Letter grade equivalent for your calculated GPA

Understanding GPA

The weighted GPA multiplies each course grade by its credit hours, dividing the total quality points by total credits. This is the most commonly used GPA and what appears on official transcripts. The unweighted GPA simply averages all grade values regardless of credit hours. Most colleges and universities in the United States use the 4.0 GPA scale, where an A equals 4.0 and an F equals 0.0.
