About Salary Calculator

Our free salary calculator helps you understand exactly how much of your paycheck you take home after federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare, and state taxes. Compare a job offeragainst your current pay, see what a raiseadds after tax, or plan a monthly budgetfrom real take-home figures. Results cover every pay period: annual, monthly, biweekly, weekly, daily, and hourly.

The calculator uses the official 2024 U.S. federal income tax brackets with correct progressive (marginal) taxation. This means each portion of your income is taxed at the appropriate rate for its bracket, not at a single flat rate. It also calculates Social Security contributions (6.2% up to the $168,600 wage base) and Medicare tax (1.45% plus the 0.9% Additional Medicare Tax on income over $200,000). You can enter your state tax rate manually to account for any state income tax.

Your salary and tax details are never uploaded. This tool is designed for U.S.-based salary estimation and does not account for pre-tax deductions such as 401(k) contributions, health insurance premiums, or other employer-specific withholdings.
